3DPrint2 Self-Hosted — Perpetual download for your own server. Optional support and paid updates are separate.

Server & Web Host Requirements

• PHP Version: PHP 8.2 or newer (PHP_VERSION_ID >= 80200).
• Required PHP Extensions: pdo_mysql, curl, mbstring, sodium (cryptographic receipt validation), zip, and simplexml.
• Web Server: Apache 2.4+ with mod_rewrite enabled. Protected directories (private/, app/, views/, and bridge/) must deny direct web access with HTTP 403.
• Database Engine: MySQL 8.0+ or MariaDB 10.5+ (dedicated empty schema, InnoDB engine, UTF8MB4 character set).
• Transport Security: HTTPS is mandatory across all web and API endpoints (unencrypted HTTP is rejected outside localhost/loopback).
• Setup Authentication: Out-of-band server setup token generated via prepare.html or php prepare-install.php (install-token.txt in private storage) to verify physical server ownership before setup.

Print Farm Bridge Client (Host PC)

• Operating System: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit). Includes native desktop launcher, Start menu shortcut, and repair scripts.
• Runtime Environment: Official Python 3.11+ with Tcl/Tk (tkinter) and venv enabled.
• Python Dependencies: paho-mqtt>=2.1.0,<3 (installed in an isolated virtual environment).
• Network Architecture: Outbound HTTPS polling only (POST /bridge-api.php) with bearer token authentication. Zero incoming router ports or NAT firewall openings required.
• Security & Sandboxing: Pinned SHA-256 certificate fingerprints (mqtt_fingerprint and camera_fingerprint). Printer LAN access codes stay exclusively on the local PC and are never uploaded to the cloud or central server.

Hardware & 3D Printer Compatibility

• Supported Hardware: Bambu Lab 3D printers in Local LAN Mode (verified on Bambu Lab A1 and Bambu Lab A1 Mini).
• LAN Communication: Control over MQTTS (TCP Port 8883 with TLS); Live Camera streaming over TLS (TCP Port 6000); Storage listing over Implicit FTPS (TCP Port 990).
• Telemetry Monitoring: Real-time nozzle and heatbed temperatures, chamber temperature, Wi-Fi RSSI (dBm), cooling fan percentages (part, auxiliary, and chamber), print progress, layer count, remaining duration, and toolhead work light status.
• Supported Remote Commands: Pause, Resume, Stop, 4-mode speed switching (Silent, Standard, Sport, Ludicrous), idle preheat targets, part cooling fan toggle, bed leveling and vibration calibration triggering, and read-only SD/timelapse file queries.
• Hardware Safety Guardrails: Refuses arbitrary raw G-code injection, manual XYZ jogging, and unauthorized extrusion overrides.

Live Camera Video Relay

• Stream Format: Progressive JPEG / MJPEG frames up to 2 MiB per frame.
• Relay Mechanism: Local TLS TCP 6000 capture relayed over outbound HTTPS worker threads.
• Bandwidth Optimization: Viewer-driven polling throttled to a maximum of 1 frame every 2 seconds (0.5 fps).
• Viewer Leases: 20-to-25 second server-renewed viewer tokens; stream workers shut down automatically when the viewer disconnects.

Licensing & Offline Resilience

• Licensing Model: One-time perpetual license per instance; updates and premium support are optional and never revoke runtime rights.
• Validation: Cryptographically signed Ed25519 receipts verified against trusted bundled public keys.
• Offline Grace Period: Requires internet for initial activation and daily refresh, with a signed 7-day offline outage grace period. If an internet outage exceeds 7 days, new print dispatches pause while active jobs, stop/pause controls, local backups, and recovery remain available.
• Disaster Recovery: Isolated private state files (config.php, license.json, installation.json) with automated CLI backup, upgrade verification (verify-release.php, apply-update.php), and empty-database disaster restore (recovery.php).
