About the KTools Platform

What KTools is

KTools is a custom warehouse operations platform built for a high-volume e-commerce prep center. It replaced spreadsheets, sticky notes and a patchwork of tools with one system that the whole team uses, from the prep floor to the office.

It is a working example of what Orbyt builds: plain PHP and MySQL, fast on ordinary hosting, owned outright by the business, with no per-seat fees.

On the prep floor (phone app)

• Scan and prep: preppers scan a product, see its prep instructions, box template, hazmat and expiry rules, and record boxes in seconds.
• Labels: item and box labels print from the browser to thermal printers.
• Misfits and damage-out: items that do not fit an order are photographed, categorized and tracked until resolved.
• Supplies: boxes, tape and film are requested from the floor and tracked by usage.
• Works on any phone: installable as an app, with sound cues for scans, warnings and errors.

In the office (admin panel)

• Prep lists and orders: active orders and shipments, what is prepped, what is left.
• Reports: sent items, productivity, supply usage and custom reports with charts.
• People: roles and granular permissions, attendance and time-off requests, team messages.
• Catalog tools: SKU details, case packs, hazmat flags and expiry requirements.
• Walmart WFS: a box and pallet builder for Walmart Fulfillment Services shipments.
• 3D Print Manager: print queue, printers and filament for in-house fixtures.
• Warehouse Legends: an optional team game with quests, badges and seasons that rewards good prep work.
• API and integrations: an external API, browser extensions and print-station bridges.
